Zanzibar entertainment industry is rapid growing at a last 5 years and is likely to cross expectation, in revenues, in the next 3 - 5 years. Internet is becoming a mainstream now and digitisation has already taken over. We are at a cusp of strong growth, riding on the demand for quality content. Various avenues available today, have led to the proliferation of Zanzibar art and culture. Zanzibar artists and technicians are getting more opportunities like never before. But the growth has to create a necessity for the local industry to have a voice in the form of community government. Unfortunately, we did not have any, until Zanzibar Entertainment Industry (ZAEF) came into being. I have been a creative industry supporter, myself, and I consider it my responsibility to promote and structuring entertainment business system and make policies by collaboration with government and other stakeholders. The ZAEF chamber will working tirelessly to define the works of Zanzibari artists, rights of all stakeholders in the industry and also ensure that those rights are protected well.
